     Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

1.     How many DVD Quarterly issues do I receive?

All DVD Quarterly subscriptions are for a one-year period beginning from the date that your new subscription or renewal is received. Four DVD issues per one-year subscription will be mailed to you. Issues are mailed quarterly, usually in March, June, September and December.

 2.     How does the DVD Quarterly work in my home?

The DVD Quarterly works in your DVD player whether it is a portable unit, connected to your television set or played on a DVD-equipped personal computer. Use it exactly as you would for loading and watching a movie: use the menu buttons, such as play, scene selection, stop.

 3.     What kinds of programming or topics are provided on the DVDs?

Each issue of the DVD Quarterly contains five to seven 25-45 minute presentations, usually filmed in the dental operatory utilizing a two or three camera set up. Programming is clinically or practice management oriented to provide information on the latest materials and techniques essential in your daily dental hygiene practice.

Clinical topics include periodontics, digital imaging, laser cleaning, preventative care, infection control and others. Practice management related topics include ergonomics, nutrition, wellness, communication and others.

4.     How does the interactive Q & A component work?

Each presentation or segment is followed by a number of multiple choice questions which must be completed before proceeding. A correct answer automatically permits you to proceed to the next question. An incorrect answer returns you to the one-to-two minute segment of the program where that information was provided. After a quick review of the information, you are returned to the next question or to the main menu.

5.     May I receive CE credits by subscribing to the DVD Quarterly?

Each of the four DVD Quarterly issues published per year consists of five to seven presentations or segments totaling three hours of material. Therefore, subscribers receive 12 hours of Continuing Education annually.

Following your viewing of each DVD Quarterly issue, you may complete a multiple choice test on line through the DVD Quarterly website or on the postcard provided. A Certificate of Participation will be provided to you either on line instantly or through the mail in 10 to 15 days after receipt at the Quarterly office. This Certificate may then be submitted to your provincial regulatory body for credit in the same manner as certificates from other forms of CE (such as symposia or meetings).

6. May I share the DVD Quarterly with my colleagues?

You may share the disks and information with your colleagues. However, only the individual DVD Quarterly subscriber is eligible to receive Certificates of Participation in this continuing education programming.
